1850 holes + 7 days + 70 year old man = 1 Guinness World Record
Jun 13th
A gripe with a lot of UK Golf Guide reviewers is slow play on the course. We’re pleased to see Pastor Bob Kurtz taking pace of play very seriously in setting a new Guinness World Record for playing 1,850 holes of golf over seven days.
While many will look at this landmark and think 14 rounds of golf a day for a week – that sounds like fun – might want to consider the tolls taken on Kurtz’ body as a result of this monumental effort. Beth Carpenter, Kurtz’ daughter added “We used Band-aids, then Second Skin, then wrapped them,” she said. “He told me that it took him about three holes to get where he could feel his putter.” More >

Old Head Golf course voted most spectacular golf course on the planet
May 31st
The Old Head golf course is the “most spectacular” course on the planet, according to Links Magazine.
The breathtaking Irish course, a popular destination for golf holidays, saw off stiff competition from Cypress Point Club in California and New Zealand’s Cape Kidnappers to win the accolade in the spring edition of the publication. It was, in fact, the only course in Europe to make the top 10, alongside representatives from China, Mexico and South Africa. More >

Devon Golf Tour
May 23rd
GMT’s inaugural trip in 2000 was to Killarney, where 8 of us were celebrating a 50th birthday. Since then eight of us have gone away every May for a golf tour. For our 10th trip we decided to go further afield than usual and plumped for Como. It was a great golf break and we especially enjoyed Villa d’Este. We then went to South West France the following year and this year we decided to go back to our roots and do a UK golf tour. North Devon had not been covered by anyone so that’s where we headed. Five Star Golf Resorts – Fore Less
May 11th
It may seem strange in these austere times, but more of us seem to be seeking a really special luxury golf holiday experience – maybe as an antidote to the recessionary cloud hanging over most of us!
Searches for exotic and far flung destinations have increased and competition between resorts for our custom is so intense, prices are being driven down, with the cost of luxury packages becoming more accessible all the time. More >

The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf and Country Club
May 6th
Having just got back from our group golf break at The Wiltshire I thought I would leave some feedback and give thanks to Your Golf Travel for a successful trip.
This was the first time I have entrusted the organisation of one of my golf holidays to a golf travel company and I have to say I was particularly impressed by the quality of service and especially by your personal efforts to help me identify viable options and pricings to then allow me to run this by my group for their selection. Old Course – New Experience
May 5th
It’s been said that you cannot consider yourself a true golfer until you’ve played the Old Course at St Andrews.
I thought that was crass assertion until I was fortunate enough to play the hallowed links myself a couple of summers ago. More >
