I have been playing golf at San Lorenzo for many years and during my recent trip there, the course was in the best condition I have ever seen it in…which says a hell of a lot! I love the variety of the holes found at San Lorenzo as it feels as if you have played three of four different courses by the time you finish your round. There are so many amazing holes on this course that I have never been able to pick out a favourite in 17 years! It certainly gets my vote as the best course in Portugal.
My friends and I also played Pinheiros Altos, which like San Lorenzo is in amazing condition. However the new 9 holes do need some time to mature before they can compare to the rest of the course.
I always return to the Dona Filipa resort because I think the hotel is the best around and definitely deserves its five star rating. Although it has plenty of other sports facilities like tennis courts etc I just can’t drag myself away from the Algarve golf courses!
If anyone is after a fantastic meal then look no further than Ostra d’Ouro Grill at the Marina. I have been going here for years and it has never let me down.
